JOB DESCRIPTION


Job Summary
we are looking for an enthusiastic team player with outstanding customer service skills to help plan, prepare, set up, serve, and clean up catering events. The Catering Team Associate position is part-time and on an as needed basis. Duties include catering and banquet etiquette, listening and communicating, reading invoices, organizing, planning and delivering, compliance with all safety, sanitation and cleaning standards, cooking, serving and transporting, and maintaining customer relations and a professional image.


Essential Job Functions
The primary operation for this position will function in the event planning to ensure all aspects of the catering meet the customer’s expectations. Communication with Catering Coordinator and the ability to meet deadlines consistently is key, as well as attention to required paperwork submission per company policy

As a catering team associate, you will:
• Prepare, deliver, set up, serve, & clean up at catering events
• Aid in team effort towards success of catering event by fulfilling customer needs
• Resolve conflicts & fulfill the needs of all customers in an efficient and effective manner
• Obtain knowledge of products & services the company offers
• Prepare, load/unload food items, supplies, catering equipment, & company vehicles for events
• Support an extremely busy, fast-paced, high pressure environment while maintaining excellent customer service
• Contribute to maintaining positive customer relations & brand image by acting as a professional
• Ensure all business processes are enforced in regard to operations standards, policies and procedures
• Ensure compliance with operational standard, company policies, federal/state/local laws and ordinances
• Adhere to company standards & services to increase sales and minimize costs. Including food, supply, utility and labor costs
• Understand operating, food, & service standards. If standards are not being met, teach team members how to improve
• Pay attention to food handling, preparation, serving & storage
• Implement sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness and maintenance of kitchen and catering equipment
• Be willing to attend Serv-Safe Certification training
• Recognize, address and resolve all safety issues.
• Maintain direct communication with the Catering Coordinator, Catering Assistant & Corporate Office with issues of high urgency
• Make certain that proper safety and security procedures are in place to protect employees, guests, & company assets
• Ensure a safe working & guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents
• Complete accident reports promptly in the event that a guest or employee is injured
• Assist in completing & reporting all start and finish times for all events in accordance with company policy & procedure
• Support the Catering Coordinator in directing the accountability of all catering team associate’s actions by properly & professionally addressing situations
• Promote positive customer service in all areas & ensure all team members are displaying exemplary customer service to guests
• Respond to complaints, taking any and all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guest into returning customers
• Support the Catering Coordinator in the promotion and sale of all products and services
• Maintain regular and required attendance

• Stay readily available & approachable for team associates
• Exhibit the ability to coordinate & work well with the Coordinator, Catering Assistant and other Catering Associate Members
• Serve as a role model, demonstrate appropriate behavior, good morals & values, and set a positive example for team members
• Maintain and demonstrate a strong work ethic and excellent time management skills
• Ensure staff & catering associates understand the proper function, operation maintenance of kitchen and catering equipment
• Develop and maintain a strong relationship with customers
• Go above and beyond to ensure that each customer is approached and their needs are individually addressed and properly met
• Always ensure each customer leaves satisfied and has experienced the absolute best dining/catering experience possible


Work Environment:
• Position requires an introductory period to obtain adequate training
• Employee will be required to attend 3-6 catering events to be considered fully trained
• Position allows for flexibility of schedule. Catering Coordinator will call with advance notice of catering opportunity. Employee will have the right to decline event offers after completing the introductory period
• Work hours will vary. Some days, evenings, weekends and most holidays will be needed
• May be exposed to outdoor environments depending on customers venue choices
• Ability to prepare for events, delivery and catering when needed. Must be dependable
• Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, repetitive hand/wrist motion, and lifting products up to 50 pounds
• This position assists in hot, cold and hazardous equipment, as well as, outdoors


Supervisory Responsibility:
This position assists the Catering Coordinator & is responsible to support the catering department for overall company success

Job Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have reliable transportation, a personal cell phone, and have food handling experience
• Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow directions and policies
• Ability to relate to different personalities and adjust
• Dedication to providing exceptional customer service
