Food Trailer - Team Member


Job Summary
Seeking a positive, energetic individual who can provide excellent customer service and perform daily duties in a fast-paced work environment of a mobile food service establishment. This is an entry level position with the opportunity to grow and advance with the company. It is primarily an operational position working behind the scenes in the kitchen or directly with the customers via the front service windows. Team members play a vital role in the daily operations including interacting with customers, taking orders via the iPad based POS system, handling money at registers, preparing / delivering food, & providing exceptional customer service


Essential Job Functions:
• Assist the Trailer Management Team in the daily operations of the trailer
• Perform specific and general duties in the trailer including welcoming and greeting customers, aiding customers in placing their order, handling money in a honest fashion, preparing and delivering food to the customers in a timely manner, cleaning and stocking the kitchen positions, maintaining trailer appearance by cleaning, stocking, and monitoring the inside and outside of the structure throughout your scheduled shift, and ensuring each customer leaves with a smile
• Understand and follow the chain of command with any and all issues
• Provide exceptional customer service & maintain customer relations to create a loyal customer base
• Must be able to work well in a very physically close team setting and maintain a solid work ethic under stress and pressure
• Deliver excellent customer service by memorizing the menu and having the ability to share other services that our company provides to ensure a positive experience for our customers
• Maintain a positive, attentive manner during peak times and shift changes
• Complete opening, closing, and preparation procedures for the following shift by setting up, stocking, and breaking down service stations
• Have a desire to be involved in further training opportunities and programs
• Adhere to the details of the operation, including all operating standards, food standards, service standards, and policies and procedures as outlined in the company handbook
• Abide by sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas. Comply with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws, and ordinances
• Maintain a professional restaurant image, including cleanliness, proper uniforms, and appearance standards
• Follow proper safety and security procedures to protect employees, guests, and company assets. Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents. Report any and all guest or employee accidents to the Store Management Team
• Exhibit a willingness to positively receive feedback and constructive criticism
• Promote positive customer service in all areas and ensure that excellent customer service is being displayed to all guests
• Report complaints to the Store Management Team to ensure that any and all appropriate actions are taken to turn dissatisfied guests into return customers
• Maintain regular and required attendance
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Consistently adhere to all housekeeping, safety, and maintenance company policies and procedures
• Understand the proper function, operation, and maintenance of all equipment in the trailer
• Develop and maintain a strong relationship with customers. Go above and beyond to ensure that each customer is approached and their needs are individually addressed and properly met
• Always ensure that each customer leaves satisfied and has experienced the absolute best dining experience possible
• A portion of each shift will be spent preparing and loading food and equipment each day at our central commissary before daily trailer launch, regular break down and food storage, cleaning and servicing the equipment and trailer at the central commissary after return of each days trip


Work Environment:
• Team members can either work in part-time or full-time positions. This is an hourly position and is eligible for overtime. Hours worked include evenings, weekends, and some holidays. We are routinely closed on Sundays, unless there is a special trailer event scheduled in advance, as well as, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day
• Ability to perform all functions at the restaurant level, including assisting with delivery and catering when needed
• Position requires consistent work effort in an environment that could change daily depending upon the event or location of the food trailer
• The majority of shifts will begin and end at Rick’s Barbecue Central Commissary in Leoma TN
• Job sites and hours of operation will vary depending upon the event or location being served. Most job sites will be within a 2 hour radius of the central commissary in Leoma, TN
• Team members may be transported to the job site utilizing company transportation. Because the food trailer is a mobile restaurant and time obligations must be met for our customers, all shift members if being transported, will leave together for the shift they work. Note that if a team member is late for their shift and the trailer departure, only in this instance will the team member be required to provide their own transportation to the job site
• If other transportation arrangements must be made, all team members affected will have advance notice as much as possible
• Full time team members must be willing to work 8-12 hour shifts, depending upon location. Appropriate breaks according to labor laws will be enforced
• Team members will be working closely together in a relatively small area around heating and cooking equipment. Safety precautions must be adhered to. The position must possess the ability to be orderly, possess critical thinking skills, be team minded, and follow instructions
• Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting products and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist motion
• This position works with hot, cold, and hazardous equipment as well as operates phones, computers, POS system, cash register, and other office equipment.

Job Qualifications:
• Dedication to providing exceptional customer service
• Food service or retail experience preferred
• High school diploma/GED or working towards diploma required
• Basic business math and accounting skills required
• Ability to use technology and to learn new software programs. Ipad experience is a plus
• Ability to multi-task & display excellent time management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
• Respect for authority and ability to follow chain of command.=
